In this new book, he provides a written form (and expanded a bit) of the Marketing course (part of BMSU). It is clear, practical, and of very high value. Donald Miller has made a huge positive impact on my business thru his books. This one and his previous book. I highly recommend getting both and signing up for his daily tips too. This guy is a marketing genius and he has a way of making it so you can be too. I found he is easy to read and follow. I recently started a chocolate company. While I know chocolate, manufacturing, accounting, I'm good at organization all the stuff to run a business except sales and marketing. That was a big scary area. My coach recommended I get his book and I'm really glad I did. I now feel like I can conquer the mountain of marketing with at least some real tools in my backpack.

I LOVE Don Miller... not in some weird way... as a marketer! He is brilliant at taking subjects that can overwhelm the average bear and make them appear easy, doable and even fun. This book is a path to follow to get your idea out into the world. He lays out the plan and all I have to do is follow it!. I love the one-liner concept. It sounds so simple but to find the right words is like putting a puzzle together blindfolded... But he keeps reminding me to do it from the customer's perspective and not my perspective. What's in it for her. So I keep coming back to that. I used his format to redo my website and several people have already said they love the simplicity of my site! (encouraging!) And my opt-in is good too.

I highly recommend this book to people to non-marketers who need marketing and for marketers to learn how to simplify the process! Thanks, Don and JJ!!!

Before you decide "marketing doesn't work"...

If you've spent a buttload of money and untold hours trying to market your business...and customers are still giving you the cold shoulder, this book is welcome medicine. Author Donald Miller, and co-author J.J. Peterson, are no strangers to the struggles of building a business. But they've also seen their own company StoryBrand grow exponentially in just a few years. Their book is insightful and immensely practical. (Actually it's a kind of "sequel" to Miller's 2017 book Building a StoryBrand.)

In short, here's a step-by-step guide for getting the attention (and the business!) of distracted consumers in a noisy marketplace. At first, the approach seems almost too simple. But the number of businesses large and small that are using this approach and growing by the day is impressive. Miller argues convincingly that clarity is everything, that businesses that confuse customers, lose customers. He makes a compelling case: maybe we make marketing way more complicated than it needs to be?

I read story brand the 1st book now on to this one and it is very different. This is more website and email funnels focused about how to do the wireframe in a website which is very helpful cause the 1st book didn't get into the explicit details. I've already gotten a couple nuggets the add on to our website and to cross check. At our nonprofit the other day we just received our largest unsolicited gift ever thanks to story brand. I was not thrilled with this book like I was with the first one. The first one was a paradigm shift and an actionable plan to carry out. This one just goes in a little bit more in-depth more focused on marketing. But again it's a rehearsal course to practice the story brand method.

It gets nothing less than five stars for the book but I really wish they would write a book just for non-profits.

I've listened to the StoryBrand podcast since day one. I'm a member of their academy. I've purchased and read everything Don Miller has ever written. But this book is different.

I read this when it came out and soon after I had a potential client reach out and ask for a new website. I asked them if I could try something a little differently and work with them on their marketing as well. They agreed.

Before we started I asked them how many conversions their website currently makes. The answer was 2600 - 2800 per month. And their conversion is someone filling out a form.

We followed step by step everything in this book together including a day-long StoryBrand meeting. I built the website and wrote the copy according to the book's style and suggestions.

If you are looking for something that will help you explode your business, this is it.

You have to do the work. But it's worth it!
