I began studying Michael's work nearly 20 years ago, and have considered myself a student since then. I believe this work to be an achievement that is perfectly suited for this moment in time.

I have used his books through the years to come to understand why most businesses do not work, and how people can take steps to make their businesses (and lives) better. I believe this volume to be a continuation of Michael's lifelong passion for helping people, and would highly recommend this work to anyone who is considering walking the path of the entrepreneur. I am currently building an enterprise based on his philosophy, and thank Michael for helping me with the process. After all, it was he who said "If you could build it, what would it be?" Thank you, Michael, for all of your help and care.

Oh to be Successful. Success What is it? How do you get it? How do you pursuit it?, What does it take to be successful? Having follow Micheal Gerber for 30 years, this book in my opinion is his best work. Micheal Gerber's life long passionate pursuit of success is summed up in this book. Buy this book, buy an additional copy for a friend.

Get a cup of coffee, put your feet and read this book over a weekend. Monday morning if you apply the principles in this book you will be on the path to success. I loved the book. I am not a book reviewer, or a professional business consultant. The professional business consultants that I consulted with could not help me with the establishment of my business. Michael E. Gerber has! Michael's language is poetic, intentionally so, as to inspire the creative nature within each and everyone of us.

Before even reading the e-Myth Series I consulted with three well known business consultants. When I explained my company, and the services that we would provide, on all three occaisions, I was told by the professional 1. "what you are doing is too important to fail!" "I can't help you". 2. "what you are doing is too important to fail!" "I can't help you, but I will think about it and call you". 3rd consultant the most well known author and marketing professional, said "what you are doing is too important to fail", "I can't help you", "but you should read e-Myth by Michael E. Gerber". I called Michael Gerber, he said "What you are doing is too important to fail; I will help you"!

I am new to business, so creating a company that had even the most elementary of standards is at very least a direction, But to create a World Class Company, is Michael's standards. Michael expresses and believes that world changing purpose must drive any Entrepreneural Venture.

I have participated "in the Dreaming Rooms" and of course nothing is free and yes everyone should go. Is it hard and foreign, trying to wrap your head around something etherial, it certainly is worth a try!

I expect that within a very few months the name of my Company and our services will be touching the very heart of our nation at least 10,000 times.

Michael mostely reminds us that nothing is impossible with God, especially in business we all need to know that.

I read the book, and didn't find a heck of a lot of reference to G-d in it. I was looking for it because of "Dr. Toad's" complaints in his review. Yes there was some, but hey, I'm inspired by that, rather than turned off. Glad to see Michael E. Gerber isn't afraid to acknowledge G-d in this age of PC and narcissism. Even our Founding Fathers knew that we couldn't do great things on our own ... but I digress. As usual, Michael's quips and easy writing/speaking style guide us through important concepts, unlike most of the business books on the market that can substitute for Ambient. This book will not only inspire you, but put big ideas into simple language. Repetition? More like "review," which is what every good teacher does. And Michael E. Gerber is definitely the teacher I wish I had in business school!

Inspiring Once Again!

Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2010

I don't normally comment in these venues, but was taken aback by the nasty attacks on Michael Gerber. It wasn't even about the book, but about the person. (Makes the attacker look very small, but that's his problem.) I read the book and found it inspiring. Plain and simple. If you are offended by the mention of God, don't read this book then, because Gerber is inspired. Yes, by God. Imagine that! You won't find it over-done in the least, but there are some who actually bristle at the very mention of the Divine, and get very distracted from the main message. And the main message is actually in the title of the book. I always say that if you take away one thing, from a book or seminar, that will improve your life, it was well worth it. Twas a bargain to gain new insights from Michael Gerber for under 20 bucks. One example of what I walked away with was reading very specific guidelines for finding a market and creating a successful business that can sustain the nightmarish economic responses to the acts of our wayward politicians. (My political view, not his.) Go for it!!!

A Book That Inspires Us to Be All That We Can Be

Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2010

The Most Successful Small Business in the World - The Ten Principles

Michael Gerber's books are popular because they speak to the ordinary business person, in a clear and concise way. Each book looks at the struggle of owning a small business from a different perspective. The E-Myth and The E-Myth Revisited targeted the fundamentals: Primary Aim, Strategic Purpose, Organizational Strategy, Management Strategy, People Strategy, Marketing Strategy, and Systems Strategy. From this came Michael Gerber's popular consulting services, which have helped tens of thousands of small businesses.

In The Most Successful Small Business in the World - The Ten Principles, Michael talks about the end result, self-actualization, and discusses how being aware of the "Principles" of building a world class business can help you achieve a world class business, in the same way that being aware of getting one's PhD and what is can mean inspires a student to move forward, no matter what. In Chapter 6, Michael talks about the 5 steps on the ladder of achieving a Higher Purpose: Awakening, Discovering, Experiencing, Internalizing, and Becoming. This is the path of life itself, with each step taking 15 to 20 years of one's life. "Becoming" is the end game, the test of how close each of us has come to Self-Actualization, to Being All That We Can Be.

This is a book that needs to be read cover to cover more than once. It's clear that Michael Gerber has achieved astounding success in his life, he has "become" what he set out to be, a leader in the worldwide small business revolution. From micro-lenders to macro-economists, it is broadly accepted that small business is the genesis of employment and economic success all over the world. Michael saw this 40 years ago, and has devoted his entire life to the cause of inspiring and helping small business entrepreneurs. His books should be read in succession: E-Myth Revisited, E-Myth Mastery, E-Myth Enterprise, Awakening the Entrepreneur Within, and now The Ten Principles.

The Most Successful Small Business in the World - The Ten Principles will inspire small business owners in any stage of their business or personal life, if they understand that one day they will look back and they will have to be accountable for their life. If they want their business to be all that it can be, they would be well advised to read The Ten Principles every year, simultaneously with updating their annual Strategic Objectives.

A Must for 'trapped' 'business' owners

Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2010

I understand why some people would grade this book as a 1 - unfortunately they have missed the point of this book and the entire E Myth concept. My suggestion for them is to go back and read the E Myth- you need this stuff. My 'journey' with the E Myth concept started when I was trapped in my business, in fact stuck with a job because my business didnt work unless I was there- 'doing it, doing it' etc. It was all about me, me making sure that everything was done well etc. I couldnt even take a holiday without worrying what would happen. I loved my business but also hated it as it trapped me. Working for myself! Ha... I was working for everyone else who worked for me- business owner, social worker, the worrier etc etc.

Then I had the total life transforming event- I read the E Myth, then I read the rest of the series. I attended a Dreaming Room with Michael.... and how my life has changed! this book has taken it to the next level!

I now love working ON my business! I have an amazing team that run my business and I see the joy as they are now becoming part of the business and changing their lives too! My profitability has dramatically improved and I am able to live my life exactly as I choose. I completely and utterly couldnt have changed my life in this way if I hadnt discovered the E Myth and michael Gerber!

So if you are a trapped, frustrated, under paid business 'owner' stuck in your 'job', (a business can run without you for months not just hours, a job cant) being terrorised by your business and staff- start with the E Myth and then read this book. It is life changing- if you 'get yourself out of the way first'- the 'do-er'. If you still dont get it, do an E Myth course on line and then attend a Dreaming room.

A Voice for American and Global Business

Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2010

Mr. Toad seems to have missed the point of Gerber's new book. Rather than FIRST trying to see the topic of the book from the author's point of view, Mr. Toad obviously had his mind made up before he read Gerber's first words! How can a book reviewer claim any kind of professional stature if he can't even get what the author was saying in the first place?

I read the E-Myth when it first came out years ago. Since then, I've read five of his books, and I just finished reading this new one. I come away from this new book with a deep appreciation for how much courage this man has to reveal his own convictions about how deeply in trouble our country is, and how desperately other countries need to see a renewal of the American business mindset.

Mr. Gerber is trying to get Americans BACK to the vision of Free Enterprise that our Founding Fathers gifted to us. Those founders clearly had a profound faith in God. And so does Mr. Gerber. So what? Doesn't Mr. Toad believe in any higher power than himself? I'm afraid that jumping on his toadstool is only about as high a viewpoint Mr. Toad has of the absolutely necessary subject Mr. Gerber is dealing with in his book.

As to Mr. Gerber's style, I must say that his most recent books are not as "textbookish" as his earlier ones. His newer books have more flair, more personality, more self-revelation. But isn't that what we want of a massively successful business leader after 30 some-odd years? Of course! Over 70,000 people who have been personally helped by Mr. Gerber can't call be wrong.

We WANT to know what makes him tick. We WANT to know how he sees the world, life, God, the angels, the planets, the stars. Mr. Toad is clearly out of touch with where people are moving to nowdays in their thinking. A recent survey showed that the majority of people today reject the old, outdated model of making as much money as possible, getting the big, beautiful home, the fancy car, and doing all of that with no thought of ethics, morality, the environment and the animals.

MOST people today crave some form of spirituality, and Mr. Gerber is NOT the only one who is writing about spirituality and business. Many are beginning to do so. He is just ahead of his time. Anyone who reads this book with an open mind will come away with several clear questions: "What am I doing to make my business be of better service to my customers?" "Am I really able to integrate what I believe in my faith with how I am conducting my business?" "Am I really serious about making my business become a true service to help others reach their goals in life?" "Am I really using my business to make this world a better place for everyone else?

You see? Mr. Gerber is forcing us to take a deeper look at our motives, our assumptions, our bigotries, our prejudices, our weaknesses. Anyone who doesn't like what this book says, might simply be afraid that it will reveal their own prejudices.

Anyone who really wants to build a truly successful business in the New World dawning upon us will see this new book as a welcome introduction to a thrilling endeavor in being part of a growing worldwide movement to promote Free Enterprise in as many ways as we can.

A Monumental Work!

Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2010

Having read all of Mr. Gerber's work, I am excited to recommend this newest library addition. Modern business success means breaking away from the stagnation of old corporate ways-- thinking with true grit and creativity. It means taking risks and building networks, setting a foundation that will have the small business taking care of itself by design. Gerber has mastered--even founded-- this way of working. "The Most Successful Small Business in the World" builds upon his unmatchable wisdom and experience and moves beyond "business as usual" business books. It is inspirational, honest, medthodical, and raw, written with care by a man with integrity. I have enjoyed this book and it has sparked a thousand brainstorms to invigorate my own small business. Thank you, again, Author Michael Gerber.

The heart and soul of a great small business

Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2010

In Gerber's classic, The E-Myth Revisited, Gerber wrote about the roles of the business owner (entrepreneur, technician, manager) and the importance of systems. Without a doubt, that was a great book. The principles were hard and fast and they were easy to believe, even if not easy to implement.

Since that book, Gerber has gone beyond the systems and has dug into the DNA of the business owner--the thinking, the feeling and the dreaming that makes great business owners. Some folks may not like this so-called "soft side" of small business ownership. Critics will say it's fuzzy and unimportant. But for those of us who practice the art of entrepreneurship, we know how true it is. And we know that the dreaming Gerber refers to is not the clumsy daydreaming of a lazy wannabe. It's the rigorous, disciplined dreaming of an ambitious entrepreneur who envisions greatness in her company. Yes, the dreaming Gerber is talking of is hard work.

You can't build a great small business without following the advice Gerber gives--not just in his original book--but also in "Awakening the Entrepreneur Within" AND this book, "The Most Successful Small Business in the World." Critics can mock it, but ambitious practitioners of entrepreneurship will appreciate the wisdom Gerber reveals here about the mindset and makeup of The Most Successful Small Business (Owners) in the World.

It's definitely worth the read!

A New Way of Thinking - Continued - Fantastic!

Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2010

Have you read The E-Myth? Michael has given small business owners a new way of thinking about and running their businesses. The Most Successful Small Business In The World is a continuation of Michael's life long commitment to make all of us more successful in our lives and our businesses.

I have been an entrepreneur since I was 18 (almost 30 years). I have been working with small business owners for over 20 years. This book is a wonderful tool to help each of us, as small business entrepreneurs, to focus on the right things to do. We tend to be good at the idea, the vision, the hard work...but we are pretty bad at working efficiently and effectively. Working Smart, Not Hard....that is what we all want. Less effort and greater results. The Most Successful Small Business In the World, is a book that reminds us and teaches us where to spend our time and focus our efforts to get the greatest results.

Through my syndicated radio show, I speak to small business entrepreneurs across the country. This book is what they need. In fact, it is not only what they need but it is what they need NOW...in this economy.

Don't question if you should buy this book and spend the time reading it, question just how quickly you are going to get it in your hands and devour the knowledge within it.

Thank you Michael for another tool to help all of us entrepreneurs get greater results.
