You Are The Team. 6 Simple Strategies to Help Teammates go from Great to Great is both a fun and practical guide to teamwork. The author Michael Rogers uses a variety of entertaining and inspiring stories to demonstrate each idea within the book. The book includes a series of questions that provoke reflection at the end of each chapter to allow readers to think about how they're using each concept in their team. The book's conclusion provides an in-depth assessment of 32 questions that will help you assess the effectiveness of each person on your team.

After having read You are the Team The members of your team as well as your company will have a different perspective about the ways they can contribute to teamwork.

Motivate and inspire your team members to:

  • Focus more on selflessness by putting the team first

Do you think that team members who commit to and following a handful of these principles would increase connections, collaboration as well as teamwork?

This book is to you, your team and your entire company.

You are the Team - 6 Simple Strategies to Help Teammates Go From Good To Great drastically improves how your team collaborates by altering the mindset and the heart of each participant in your team.

Many leaders struggle to get employees members to assist and support each other; to be honest, direct and courteous in their communications and to actively participate in meetings, sharing ideas and talking about important issues as well as to respect each other and to prevent the team from engaging in negative conversation and gossip; and to ensure that the members of their team accept responsibility for their actions and their performance... just to mention only some.

You Are The Team - 6 Simple Ways Your Teammates Can Change from Good to Greatcombats Each of these team-related issues that stem from the writer Michael Rogers calls the "Teammate Me Culture," which is when the members of the team focus more on their own interests over the needs of the team, and when teamwork is not as effective due to this.

Everyone is aware that exceptional teamwork is the key to achieving extraordinary outcomes. This is the reason why businesses invest so much time and money to build teams and development activities for teams. But, very the majority of teams fail in improving their teamwork since the members of the team are not committed to the team's goals or results.

The unfortunate fact is that a lot of team members are performing way below what they can achieve and, as a result, hinder their teams from becoming exceptional.

Purchase a copy for yourself as well as all your team members, and also for your entire business.

Writer Michael G. Rogers is a former Director of Education, and Performance and Quality for a Fortune 50 company. He is now an adjunct lecturer in Southern Utah University in the School of Business. He has more than twenty years experience in consulting as well as working on a array of teams.

You are the Team focuses on what I can do to be a great team member. I have had the privilege of working on several great teams and some that were not so great in education and corporate environments. At time, it's a challenge to to work with people that seem to be focused on their own interests than they are about working together for the good of the team. I appreciate the positive perspective of this book to challenge me to look at what I can do to improve to be a better teammate and not, "if only xxxx were better at xxxx." "Amazing things can happen when you take initiative and work to make the team better through your own example. Being a leader is more about what you do than what you say or try to make others do." (Michael G. Rogers) I highly recommend this book to any person working on a team in any capacity - home, work, school, etc. The principles taught are applicable to anyone that would like to improve relationships.

Once in a while an author strikes solid Gold. Mike Rogers did just that!

"You Are the Team: 6 Simple Ways Teammates Can Go from Good to Great" is solid Teamwork GOLD. Full of nuggets of usable stories, excellent narrative, easy to understand how-tos in taking your self and your team to the next level.

Mike has a wonderful, user friendly writing style that enables all levels of person (age, position in leadership, etc) to grasp each of the 6 ways in going from Good to Great in Teamwork. As I read the content it enabled me to assess where I stand personally, how I can apply it to teams I interact with, and "Yes", even to my family and other relationships. Practical and doable!

Maybe I should say, it is Solid Gold and the heart of the content radiates the value of many precious stones. Amazing enough it matters not how you come to the book, even if the reader starts as a "diamond in the rough". You will I promise upon completion reach of the stars and step up to a new level in your commitment to becoming the best you can be as a teammate that makes the difference in those teams you are involved with.

Good Job Mike! Onward and Upward! The Best is Yet to Come!

Become a better team member today! Easy to read and apply into your daily life.

This book has inspired me to be a better team member! I have already become a better manager because of it. I have implemented a number of the suggestions, specifically being positive and celebrating a team members success in front of everyone. It was fun to watch the positive chain reaction of events take place by the simple act of celebrating another team member publicly.

I appreciated how readable the book was. There was not a lot of big words or fancy jargon. It was direct and to the point on how to become a better team member. I really enjoyed the number of short stories that helped to drive certain points home.

Another aspect of the book I liked was that after each section it stops you and asks you how can you apply the principles you just learned into your daily life. I found the book to be well written and easily applicable as a team member, a manager, a husband and a father. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve themselves and the team that they are on!

I have been doing a lot of traveling recently - so I have been spending time reading this new book "You Are the Team" Even though I usually spend a lot of time on the plane reading, this trip I had planned on just relaxing. I started this book and it was difficult to put it down. I read it not once but three times on my last trip. This book is exactly what I need for my team. I have several sales and support people who I am responsible for and which I care a lot about. They are an excellent successful sales team. But I have been wondering what to do next to bring us more together and on the same page. After reading "You Are the Team", I knew exactly what to do. I want to make sure each one of my team members have an opportunity to read this inspiring book on teamwork. It is an excellent, easy to read and full of wonderful powerful motivation stories that can make you feel good about yourself and your team.

This book is very well thought out and written. The flow is good and it is easy to read. The content is amazing. Whether you are a manager, a director, a team member, or any other position, this book is a must read. If every single person on any team ever read and applied the principles of this book, wow! So much could be accomplished! While that's not realistic, for those of us that have a part to play in building our teams, these are some great things to also look for and strive for in your team and hire people that will be this type of person and get rid of those who aren't. I highly recommend this book. Take the time to read it and then apply it. There's something in here to be learned, even for the best team members out there.

Turning the concept of "teaming" on its head, Mike has written a book that invites every member of every team, not just the leader, to engage in making the team successful. Through interesting history and accomplished story-telling, Mike brings the reader on a journey of the 6 "Be's" to individual and team success. He provides thoughtful questions and exercises that lead the reader deeper into her own behavior with call to measure its impact on others. Simple but poignant, this book is a quick but a must read. The workbook that accompanies it is also spot on.

Being part of a great team starts with you!

You will not be disappointed with this book! It gets to the nitty gritty of what it takes to be a great teammate. No matter your role, profession, or life experience you will walk away from this book with valuable, actionable techniques to make yourself more enjoyable and accountable to work with.

This book makes you reflect on how you are as a team member. It gives you thought provoking questions to ask yourself and your team to make you a better teammate. It starts with you. How do you measure up? The activities are practical and simple to implement in your day to day life. They are not just for the work place. I often found myself thinking about my friendships and personal relationships as well. As a leader for over 10 years, I took away many aha moments and nuggets that I started to use with my team (the one I lead and my peer team of leaders).

These 6 B's will take you on a journey to greatness. What resonated most with me were two areas: seeking out feedback from your teammates about your performance/how you are as a teammate and holding yourself accountable rather than placing blame when mistakes happen. Two things I don't see happen enough within a team dynamic. I am part of a winning team but these 6 ways will enhance our connection on so many levels. Thank you Michael for such a great book.

The Epitome of Team "Be" Attitudes

This is a must read if you are leading a tribe, or learning to do so. I loved the pace and practicality of the application suggestions at the end of every chapter. Rogers is an excellent guide for anyone who is on, or building a team. Stories are relevant and demonstrates additional application of each "Be" attitude explored in this book. Michael Roger's "You are the Team" You Are the Team: 6 Simple Ways Teammates Can Go from Good to Great sits next to Seth Godin's "Tribe" Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team" by Patrick M. Lencioni in my library. This well crafted and actionable book also has a downloadable Workbook for purchasers and is accompanying me on my next trip. Oh, and there is an assessment to determine what kind of Teammate you are. Huge value. Great reference. I intend to purchase a copy or "You are the Team" for each of my board members.

An Excellent Resource for Teams

A great contribution on the subject of teams. Where most books focus on how to manage teams at the level of the team leader, this book focuses on how to be a better team member. We don't do a good job teaching people how to work well as part of a team, which is part of the reason teams don't perform at the level organizations expect.
