Do we really have a choice?

Neal Abramson got it right. We CAN choose. Unfortunately, a lot of people DON'T choose. They allow their habitual thoughts, feelings, or behavior choose FOR them, and of course, this keeps you stuck in your old patterns. Abramson points out clearly that you HAVE patterns, but you ARE NOT your patterns, and this is the real key to his book and advice. Moving from a victim stance, which is where life happens TO you, to a master's stance, where you create your own experiences and circumstances, is the key to living a life of freedom, joy, and fulfillment.

If you've felt stuck and unable to move out of your comfort zone, read this book. Sometimes we need a swift kick in the pants, and a wise advisor to whisper in our ear, "You can do it... keep going..." You'll get both in this book. Highly recommended - both for adults who want to make changes in their lives, and young people who want to create a life of meaning and success. Give it to every college student you know, and give them a head start on taking full responsibility for creating their reality.

Don't let the simplicity fool you... this book is POWERFUL and can help you CHOOSE your life

N.G. Abramson has written a handbook for choosing your life in an easy to read, but highly charged manner which challenges us to examine what we are experiencing and life. And to evaluate that life without shame or judgment. Mr. Abramson takes us step by step into his early incarceration and the many changes he went through, mainly through the wisdom, care and kindnesses of parole officers (really!), counselors, teachers and organizations like Landmark. Worldwide which provided a safety net for changing his own outlook and life.

You will find value in this book if: You have ever wondered why your life is the way it is and what you could do about it. Or if you have struggled with unforgiveness of others and yourself. And if you long for a template within which you can share safely with others and find your life's purpose.

Seriously... do not let the brevity and the unassuming nature of this book fool you. This book delivers. You CAN choose your life without the struggle, sadness, anguish and fears that may have plagued you. Buy this book. Give it to people you love. Share with your family, friends, coworkers, children and.. then, do yourself a favor and read it again. And to the exercises. WOW!

In this not just inspiring but also motivating book, Abramson tells about the bad choices he made as a teenager, the damage he caused, the consequences he suffered and the support he received while earning his way back from prison to freedom. But that's just the beginning. The rest of the story is his commitment to share his transformation so that others may do the same with their lives, whatever their past, whatever their dreams. And he doesn't just send vibes of encouragement, he also includes specific steps to start the reader on the right path and stay there. Well worth reading, interacting and sharing.

When I was a teenager I remember how confused I often was, too many choices and not enough wisdom or experience yet to make the right choice. I would have benefited and appreciated this guide, written as though you were talking to me, (not lecturing) because you cared. Give it to your teenager, your neighbor's teenager, the kid on the block you noticed is struggling. The cover is what got me to open the book...and read it!

I loved that Neal was so open about his life and the impact it had on him throughout his life.

Neal made it simple to see where we as human being beat ourselves up and limit what's possible.

Neal has also provided tools to use to breakthrough the barriers that get in our way. I highly

recommend taking the time to look at your life using his examples. Great job, Neal.

This book gives so much guidance for recognizing the stories I tell myself about who I am, then lays out a path for transcending those stories. More than a good read

Mr. Abramson's book sheds light on how our thoughts -internal conversations- can be self-defeating but more importantly, he shows us how to turn the conversations around. He reminds us we have many possibilities at each moment to create more loving and purposeful lives -"Things are possible in the unknown that are not possible in the known." I found this passage from the book especially meaningful. In addition to thoughtful advice, Mr. Abramson provides activities to help readers step confidently into the unknown to reset their lives. I highly recommend the book!
