Create the awesome life YOU deserve AND build the business to fund it. Discover the top 3 business models that produce 95% of the income online.

Today’s interview for the Millionaire Secrets Podcast is with my new friend Chris Do.

If you’re in the design world, then you probably know Chris through his wildly successful and awesome Youtube channel: The Futur

Chris came to the US with his parents from Vietnam and lived through a childhood of extreme poverty.

But today…

Chris is a multi-millionaire designer and entrepreneur.

In this interview, we focus in on the psychology of money. In particular, the difference between value and price.

So many people get stuck on the idea of charging a certain price for their services and this usually means they remain stuck on the level of…

...freelancer or self-employed.

Chris teaches his creative design students that if they ever want to charge the big-bucks and truly build a million-dollar business, then they’re going to need to master the mindset of…business.

Meaning, you price a service differently for each customer and base that pricing on the value delivered.

This is a fascinating interview on money-mindset - and it’s not just relevant for design work. It applies to all of us here in the entrepreneur space.

Packed Full of Life-Transformative Wisdom

I have the opportunity to both read Cory's book and also to be partaking of his wisdom via coaching calls through 5 Capitals. His book is full of practical and applicable wisdom, which is exactly what flows from his heart through the personal coaching sessions.

If you are in a position where you know there is more to your life (not just business performance) that you have not grabbed ahold of, then this book is for you. The chapters are digestible and include questions after each that help you go deeper. But the book can only get you so far, so I encourage you to also take it a step further and engage him as your coach.

This book is being added to my list of required reading for my clients.

Thank you, Cory, for charing your heart and wisdom so effectively.

Stimulates Introspection throughout!! Your family, community and company will improve.

Leadership books often focus on culture, organizational structure or actions that will create success at a company, this author puts the exclusive focus on you. Carlson’s anecdotes stimulate ideas but answering the questions throughout the book is helping me improve my life, my family, my community and my company. His questions are not easy and even though it’s just me, a pen and paper sometimes it’s uncomfortable. The journey this book is taking me on is exciting!

If you are feeling stuck in your career or in life, this book is for you! This book is well written and enjoyable to read. I appreciate the short chapters because it makes it easier to fit into a busy schedule. But most importantly, it really help me put somethings in perspective. I have been chasing a title at my job for years, and viewing my success through that lens. This book encouraged me to take a step back and open my eyes to see what God has for me.

I was hesitant at first as I’ve done lots of introspective self-help type exercises. So I was pleasantly surprised that I’m getting a great amount of clarity and value from this book. It’s easy to understand and engage with the content which offers simple yet powerful questions and a really great framework for thinking about my various sources of ‘capital’.

Key Takeaways that Helped with Depression and Burnout

Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2021

Verified Purchase

I ended 2019 completely burnt out, depressed and full of anxiety! I'm a business owner of twelve years and started a family of three, eleven years ago. During that time, I poured all my energy into the business and my kids, leaving no time to myself to rest, rejuvenate and enjoy life. Twelve years of that adds up and compounds the stress. On top of that, instead of forming healthy habits, I began forming bad habits - not exercising, drinking too much alcohol, using too much tobacco and caffeine. I came across the book that Cory wrote at the right time. I learned and applied many of the tools that Cory suggests and it has helped tremendously to pull me out the rut I was in.

This book is for anyone- regardless of your faith or lack thereof- who wants to get serious about addressing the areas of their lives in which they feel out of synch, deficient, or just dissatisfied. Carlson breaks it all down into easy to understand- and apply- language and action steps. I love his transparency about the things in his life that led him to these discoveries. He is an authentic voice in the field of life and business success

Succinctly written - Packed with wisdom for prioritizing your life

Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2019

The underlying premise in the book is this: Our identity is defined by God, as his beloved sons or daughters - already approved by Him! This perspective sets the upbeat tone for the book. Each chapter is short, and covers a single topic, with recalibration questions that challenge you to apply the teaching by writing your answers in the space provided. I like the succinct writing style and the logical progression of the 4 parts: YOU, MARRIAGE, PARENTING, and finally, WORK. I see myself continuing to refer back to the practical wisdom in this book.

I have spent more time marinating in this book than any other book I can remember. Cory takes the reader through a journey from self awareness to reflection and challenges... and ultimately to making simple changes in your life that your family, team and co-workers will absolutely appreciate. Cory also uses biblical references to add depth and clarity. I highly recommend this book/guide to everyone who recognizes their life could use some positive adjustments.

Just finished reading and engaging with this book and was struck by how candid the author is about his own personal journey and why he pulled together these thoughts - in order to make an impact. Clear and powerful frameworks as well as simple, engaging guides to help prompt us to take a moment to recalibrate as we chart our course. We all like winning and "Winning at Home First" is clearly a key to broader, holistic fullness in life. Wonderful, seamless integration of Christian truth throughout the book as well. Great stuff.

Today I knocked out the forward, intro, and Chapter 1. Lots of highlighting. My recommendation would be to package the book with a highlighter cause people are going to want to have one handy. Bought 2 of the books and I am gonna deliver one to the guy that came to mind while reading this morning. We are gonna take back some ground with this book. I’m grateful for you and your ministry! Thanks for being brave and vulnerable with your story of redemption so that men everywhere can find freedom.

Great book! Cory gets very personal, many examples from his life, others, and Jesus. Techniques he uses with clients to identify the holes in life, and how to deal with them. I really liked his "Five P's" method, to develop a Personal Vision Statement. Cory's moments of openness and vulnerability really helped me to recognize these things in my own life.

When an author is willing to share some of their darkest moments and choices, you know that you're going to read a book that has true depth and the grit it takes to change the way we see and act in our own private world. Well written, thought-provoking about balance and family struggles and rising above them by taking personal responsibility.

Cory does an excellent job of getting to the heart of the matter -- "Personal life counts so much more than professional life." I love how he lays out the book and how he details how his and his family's success stories are weaved into God's story - like the rest of ours (whether we are aware of it or not!). The books is compelling and gets right to the point and stays on it to the end.

Practical guide for personal and work growth

Great read. I was fortunate to work with Cory for a few years. Glad to have this guide to refer to since we don't work together anymore. I can vouch for him that everything in this book he believes to his core, practices day in and day out, and strives to serve others and empower them to win at home first. I still incorporate many of the tools (such as invitation challenge matrix and Vision/values/vehicles) into my relationship management with direct reports, personal & home, and with strategic thinking/planning.
